Losing A Lost Battle

How, after these weeks of agony, can I question? I question my faith, or lack thereof, my mental capabilities (am I sane?), humanity. How, can so many die, so, so many, and I’m still here? So many die. And yet I take another breath, cry another tear, and nothing, for them. Should we not be numb? Should we not be immune? No. Immunity is a trick of the mind, a side door we pass through, with a dead-ended corridor. How long can you remain in the corridor without a fight? When will you find your way out? But I feel as if numbness is different… Numbness is not absence of pain, but an overwhelming amount of it, causing an inability to function. At least in my experience. I’m almost there. But why? Why? Why am I too exhausted to shed another tear, and yet a second, a third, wells in my eyes? Who am I? Why am I?

Emery gives me feelings of peace, and brings me back to my first show with my aunt and uncle. Definitely an any-mood kind of band.

The entire album Paper Wallsreminds me of Los Angeles, where I spend a lot of time. Shadows and Regrets always manages to make me think of my best friend, and our middle school years together.
